MLO 1: Language Proficiency
Students are able to communicate effectively in Spanish in three modes: interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational, and in a culturally appropriate manner in a variety of social and professional settings and circumstances at the Advanced Low level of language proficiency, according to ACTFL Guidelines.
Courses Completed: SPAN 301, SPAN 304
Reflection: In my SPAN 301 class I was able to learn how to present orally and how to story tell. At the end of the semester Dr. Pablo Oliva had us individually present orally. In the class I was able to do a formal presentation as you can take a look here. This course helped me present more comfortably and learn how to use my Spanish in a professional way. In my SPAN 304 class, Dr. Christine Fernández had us working with groups a few times. We had to learn how to work together and see the different perspective of how we interpret literature, then we would present at the end of the class. In this presentation here we analyzed literature from Generación del 98'. This two course helped me to become a much better communicator in Spanish and were the core classes that prepared for the other major courses.
